Job Summary:

Responsible for managing individual construction projects within budgetary and time constraints while ensuring design and brand standards of National Fitness Partners and the Franchisor are met. Projects include the development of new clubs, expansion and remodel of existing clubs, and miscellaneous projects to support the growth and expansion of the organization. Under supervision of the Vice President of Store Development, this individual will be responsible for design, permitting, construction, closeout, and warranty processes to successfully open new clubs and complete club remodels within our high standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Execute the successful opening and remodel of individual Planet Fitness locations within the National Fitness Partners’ geographic footprint.

  • Coordinate the activities, timing and communication between internal teams and third- party vendors including design professionals, contractors and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with branding requirements and prototypical standards in every project.

  • Continuously communicate and track design and construction modifications accurately and effectively to the field, the architects, general contractors, and vendors.

  • Maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulatory construction/building code requirements.

  • Manage construction project schedules to meet project deadlines and final grand opening dates.

  • Maintain and manage relationships with all local and national account vendors.

  • Track and manage construction budget for all projects.

  • Coordinate the installation of exterior signage in compliance with Planet Fitness, landlord, and municipal requirements.

  • Perform weekly worksite visits to ensure contractor work is meeting standards and on schedule.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or related field (preferred).

  • 3-5 years’ experience (preferred) managing construction projects. Experience representing tenants is a plus.

  • Demonstrated organization and project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and control costs.

  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office suite and reading Gantt-style project schedules.

  • General familiarity with building codes and ability to understand municipal ordinances.

  • Ability to travel 75% within OH, PA, MD, DE, VA, WV, NC, SC, CT, MA, TN, and IN.

  • Experience working with lease language and scopes of work is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Primarily a sedentary role requiring extended periods of time performing work on a computer and travelling.

  • Occasional lifting of boxes and supplies of 25 lbs.

  • Onsite project management requires high degree of mobility, including climbing ladders.
