We value integrity, inclusiveness, stewardship, and communication.  We are accountable to our community for innovative and collaborative efforts that anticipate needs, leverage resources, and deliver solutions.</span><br><br style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><strong style="font-weight: bold;color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><u>SAFETY STATEMENT</u></strong><br><span style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;">We expect our employees to ensure compliance with all applicable safety practices and policies, including those established by OSHA/DOSH regulations and by the City’s Accident Prevention Plan.  This includes but is not limited to actively identifying and correcting potential hazards that may affect employee and public safety, including those identified by co-workers; leading by example to promote a positive culture of workplace safety through everyday action; and emphasizing safe completion of work throughout all aspects of developing and carrying out work plans.</span><br><br style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><strong style="font-weight: bold;color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><u>CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY</u></strong><br>Guest Services Representatives are responsible for providing excellent customer service to customers and visitors throughout the City’s recreation facilities.  Guest Services Representatives demonstrate friendly and professional service and demonstrate enthusiasm for providing a positive recreation experience for all guests.<strong><u>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</u></strong><br>The following list reflects the essential job duties and responsibilities of this classification but is not all-inclusive.  Guest Services Representatives will perform other related duties as assigned.<br><ul><li>Greets all customers enthusiastically and professionally, and includes both in-person and over the phone interactions.<li>Answers phones, directs calls as appropriate, and takes messages when needed.<li>Assists full time recreation staff with minor set up and take down of special events and rentals.<li>Assists full time recreation staff with small departmental projects.  <li>Manage respective City facilities after traditional City business hours. <li>Accepts payments and processes transactions for special events, class enrollments, and facility rentals; performs daily cash drawer close out.<li>Performs a variety of clerical duties including copying, generating reports, entering data, emailing, and assisting recreation staff.<li>Ensures all customers follow the program and facility use rules and policies.<li>Performs basic cleaning and light janitorial functions as needed.<li>Provide first aid and emergency response when required.<li>Follows proper procedures for opening and closing the facility for daily business.<li>Any other responsibilities that would be required to maintain effective operations of the facility.</ul><strong><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong><br><ul><li>Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.<li>Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.<li>Must have at least two (2) years of full-time customer service experience, including retail or hospitality experience.<li>Must possess basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software.<li>Must be punctual and show up for work on time.<li>Must demonstrate clear and effective communication skills.<li>Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.<li>Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.<li>Must demonstrate a positive attitude and be able to work with a diverse range of customers, visitors, vendors, and coworkers.<li>Must adhere to a dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.<li>Spanish-speaking candidates is highly desirable.</ul><br><em><u><strong>Additional requirements:</strong></u></em><br><ul><li>Must successfully pass a criminal background check and professional reference check.<li>Must obtain current CPR/First Aid certification within 3 months of employment.   </ul><em><u><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></u></em><strong><u> </u></strong><br>To perform the essential functions of the classification, incumbents must be able to meet the following physical requirements: must regularly speak and hear; must read and see, including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception; must sit or stand for extended periods; must regularly demonstrate fine motor skills; and must occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and routinely exert up to 10 pounds of force.<br> <br><strong><u>WORK SCHEDULE</u></strong><br>This is a year-round, variable-hour position expected to work fewer than 30 hours per week.   Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required.  This classification is non-exempt under the FLSA.
