What You'll Do: Edward Jones is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Leader well-versed in leading highest priority / complex efforts in the Investment Advisory Platform portfolio which strives to deliver client solutions in the fee-based product space. Projects will follow Agile / Product Management standards of planning and execution, and require close coordination between portfolio owners, client segment leaders, digital solution train engineers, as well as many other functional capability stakeholders. This position is designed for large financial services projects that serve the Investment Advisory Platform area. Role reports directly to the Firm Program Management Office (FPMO). Projects are expected to span multiple areas, divisions and outside vendors, and can be very complex in nature. The Investment Advisory Platform (IAP) portfolio represents an expansion of our products and services designed to be the multi-segmented chassis at the center of executing on advisors' and clients' investment management needs at the direction of each client's goal plan or financial plan. IAP helps serve clients more completely by: Providing investment advice at the goal or plan level. Allowing branch teams to personalize how each client's overall investments can be managed to a single risk tolerance. Offering an improved experience with flexibility in determining & customizing which features are needed for each client's unique needs. Providing enhanced tax management features to improve tax outcomes when making changes. Providing branch teams with Expanded Investment Offerings to help meet client's needs for more personalization, flexibility, and tax management.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning Ability to identify major detailed project tasks and the resources to complete these tasks.
  • Coordinate the efforts of internal and external parties for a successful project implementation.
  • Align project activities with the firm's strategic direction through project management methodologies and risk management concepts.
  • Facilitate the thorough collection of business requirements following best practices.
  • Project Execution Coordinate people and other resources to carry out project plans and achieve defined milestones.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across multiple areas, divisions and outside vendors.
  • Decisive with project decisions and able to make recommendations to senior leaders within the Firm Project Management Office (FPMO) division and other divisions across the firm.
  • Project Control Ensure project cost, schedule and quality objectives are met by monitoring and measuring progress, taking corrective action and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Evaluate and escalate project issues and risks.
  • Suggest prevention and mitigation strategies as appropriate.
  • Provide senior leaders with data to ensure appropriate business decisions are made.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
  • Significant Edward Jones Finance experience or relevant industry experience required.
  • Previous experience as a project / program leader or similar leadership experience required.
  • Typically, 10+ years of industry experience and/or significant external project management experience is expected.
  • Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status . Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
