​The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a System Administrator to work on our Department of State Facial Recognition (DoS FR) program.  This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the DoS FR team support the Consular Affairs mission to verify applicant identities, prevent issuing travel documents to those who pose national security threats, and prevent issuing travel documents to applicants using fraudulent aliases.  The position is remote but qualified applicants will live in the National Capital Region to facilitate periodic access to a DoS lab facility in Chantilly, VA.  The position offers meaningful growth opportunities for applicants who can demonstrate requisite professional knowledge, work ethic, and willingness to take initiative.

​​Primary Responsibilities:

-Contribute to DoS Facial Recognition team to verify applicant identities, prevent issuance of travel documents to those who pose national security threats, and prevent issuance of travel documents to applicants using fraudulent aliases.

-Submit trouble tickets as required; Track and report on trouble tickets submitted by the DoS FR team

-Perform preventive and adaptive  maintenance and patching as prescribed

-Assist with installation, test and documentation of facial recognition systems and software components

-Assist with integrating emerging technologies into legacy facial recognition systems

-Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required

-Work seamlessly with DoS groups and Government-designated contractors

-Coordinate with Consular Affairs configuration management personnel to advance system modernization initiatives, to include operating new facial recognition systems in parallel with legacy systems when required

-Assist in maintaining IT risk scoring metrics (iPost) within prescribed limits

-Assist in maintaining security compliance of Consular Affairs databases, to include documenting relevant security controls and supporting security tests to validate security control implementation and operation

-Contribute to system documentation efforts

Basic Qualifications:

-Must have Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of relevant experience

-Must possess and maintain active Secret clearance or above to be considered for role (US Citizenship required)

-Must live in the National Capital Region for periodic access to DoS facilities in Chantilly, VA

-Experience with basic Linuxcommand line skills such as:

*File navigation and manipulation

*File viewing

*System tasks

*Task automation

-Working understanding of basic concepts such as processes, users, and the file system hierarchy to automate tasks and manage the OS efficiently

-Working understanding of Windows server administration

-Experience with Oracle SQL*Plus

-Basic scripting ability in Windows and Linux

-Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; able to create statistical charts

Preferred Qualifications:

-Previous experience working with DoS systems and databases

-Experience with Idemia MBSS

-Experience with Cloud migration

Pay Range: Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
