The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. The OnBrand Creative Agency sits within GABM. We are focused on developing forward thinking ideas and work across channels, end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond. We are seeking a Studio Manager to oversee the OnBrand Design Studio and Content Production Studio.

As a Studio Manager, this role will oversee daily operations, trafficking projects and managing resources by working collaboratively with project management, creative, and production leads. The Studio Manager must possess a proactive collaborative mind-set and be solution oriented in undefined territory.

The focus of this role will be to:

  • Facilitate and validate capacity planning and adjustments to ensure efficient utilization for multiple account portfolio work-streams across OnBrand and

  • Plan and traffic Design Studio & Content Production Studio projects through delivery, certifying that work-streams are operating smoothly and serving overall business goals. The Studio Manager will report to the Group Director of Content Production.

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate incoming Design and Content Production Studio resourcing requests and deliver ongoing resourcing decisions and project staffing plans. Meet with colleague stakeholders regularly to make communication easy and transparent regarding portfolio capacity issues and decisions on agency Studio resourcing or services. Oversee resource change management.
  • Studio Manager must flex staffing adjustment decisions accordingly in close support of colleagues.
  • Traffic Design & Content Production Studio projects from intake through the delivery of assets, managing schedules and ensuring accuracy in submissions at handoff.
  • Own and maintain effective and efficient Studio workflows that ensure compliance requirements in delivery are met.
  • Expert knowledge of the resourcing and capacity components of Workfront, including power-usage of workload balancer tool, to provide ongoing support for optimizing the tool informed by trends and best practices, and help OnBrand leadership apply this view to inform our resource decision making
  • Driving delivery of short-term project execution in Design Studio as a liaison for the Design Studio team to Account and Creative leads.
  • Project travel, budget and invoice tracking in partnership with the Operations team for Content Production Studio
  • Maintaining equipment organization and purchasing for Content Production Studio

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Agency Operations and resource management within an agency or in house. Strong knowledge and background in design and content production work types (e-mail, landing pages, banner animations, video, print and motion graphics) is priority. Experience serving a global financial service or travel/lifestyle brand is a plus
  • Must be an excellent collaborator and self-starter with change and risk management experience
  • Experience navigating tight timelines, supporting high-visibility initiatives, and always seek to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong communication and managerial skills, with experience articulating the end-to-end creative process, framing strategic challenges and opportunities, and collaborating with a variety of partners and stakeholders by adapting communication style, content, and medium to suit the task or audience.
  • Relationship management. Ability to manage time and organize creative workloads with colleagues, partners and agencies. Must cut through clutter and drive results to reinforce integrity of the internal agency and American Express brand
  • Working knowledge of marketing operations and development. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced and iterative work environment
  • Expert knowledge of Workfront, specifically with workload balancer and reporting functions
  • Continuously seeks and learns from feedback to improve
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary Range: $78,000.00 to $$124,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
