Job Overview

As a Starbucks Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. This position requires closing shifts and weekend availability, making it ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced café environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso beverages with precision and care.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and answering questions about menu items.
  • Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist in food preparation, including pastries and snacks, while adhering to food handling guidelines.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including basic math calculations for change.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment focused on teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous barista or coffee experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and sales transactions.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices in the food industry is essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
