Mgr-Sys Admin & Virtualization

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Leads day-to-day server operations and virtualization management, ensuring reliable, secure and high-performing compute platforms

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage daily operations of enterprise servers and virtualized environments, including provisioning, monitoring, patching, updates, and ongoing maintenance

2. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of virtualized and physical server environments

3. Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with architecture, data center, and database teams

4. Maintain comprehensive operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure improvements and support new initiatives or workloads

6. Manage, lead, and develop a team of high-performing system administrators and virtualization specialists, fostering skills growth and operational excellence

7. Perform other duties as assigned

8. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

  • Five (5) years of experience in system administration, enterprise server operations, or virtualization

  • Proven expertise managing enterprise servers and virtualized environments (e.g., Windows servers, VMware)

  • Experience with patch management, monitoring, incident resolution and backup/recovery processes

  • Familiarity with operational standards, information technology (IT) governance and best practices for server and virtualization management

  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex enterprise server and virtualized environments

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and support operational continuity

  • Leadership and mentorship skills to grow system administration capabilities and promote best practices across the team

Pay Transparency: The compensation listed reflects the pay range/rate of pay reasonably expected for this position. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, pay information represents the min/max range for all levels. Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law, such as relevant experience. Pay: Pay Range: $103,880.00 - $181,790.00

Additional Details: This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Harrison, AR/Memphis, TN/Lakeland, FL/Chicago, IL/Colorado Springs, CO. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.
